Redesign of eText 2021
1. unboxing
The Goal: Unboxing flow helps give users a sense of what they'll need to do in order to get what they need from an app or product. It's a way of building confidence and trust with the user.
The Research: How familiar are your new users with similar products? Studied what unboxing method is best for this product by researching other related products onboarding experience and best practices. In addition, we collect findings from user testing for any specific area that user can ignore or missed.
1. Welcome messages The design helps users keep an eye towards their end goal and motivate them to complete eText user onboarding experience in order to start using the app.

2. Action-driven tooltips By highlighting a given element in the app and darkening the space around it. We use Appcue to create coachmark for more specific feature, like settings, Audio or study tools.
3. Unboxing animation I created this animation using abstract elements to show key features of eText as introduction for new users want to learn about eText.

3. eText scrubber
Goal: Improve the scrubber in eReader by adding thumbnail preview, bookmarks and previously view into the scrubber timeline.Radio paused / Radio Playing / Pressed down to show playback options
User Testing: During the user testing, we find out students love the fact that they can navigate the entire book through this new timeline which indicate the bookmarks. One of the major problem is users tend to ingore the page inputs box. To solve this problem, i added the arrow on both side of the input box to clear indicate this functionality.
Respondsive Design Transfering design into all screen sizes is a challeage. I removed the thumbnail preview and hover on effect in mobile to simplify the design in smaller screen.
